Hmmm....
It's been a long long time, I know! I even promised I would write more, but for whatever reason I have not been taking time out for me! This has got to change!
HELLO!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
This year didn't start off very well. New Years eve was nice. We spent it with Kim's uber best friend Santana, her mom and her boyfriend, and her mom's friends, oh and Kim of course. She got there before us. We played a few games - learned that Santana makes up rules as she goes for UNO! sure, you thought it WAS the rules... hahahaha
Shannon (Santana's mom) and I had a bonding moment, which was pretty cool. She threatened Abdi, if he hurt me he would have to deal with her. Although I'm the older of the two, at that particular moment I thought of her as an older sister, looking out for me! It was soooo sweet! Once again I was the only one who wasn't drinking, but that's ok, no one was really out of hand.. The new year came in nice. We all had a great time.
A pre party note... gas stations close before 10 pm New Year's eve.
Kim was really tired, so she came home with us. I told her I would drive her to get her car before she had to be at work - but really! It was so unfair for Kim to have to work on New Year's day! So here's not so bright eyed and bushy tailed momma, gets in the car and drives Miss Kimmay to work - we didn't have time to pick up car first. On the way back I am thinking to myself, I must have five dollars in my purse for gas somewhere (remember the comment that gas stations close before 10 pm...) i couldn't find it, so I kept right on going... right passed the gas station and a block away my little jetta died... cough cough chug chug... slooooooowly I manage to get her off of Southland drive. I ran out of gas!! So I call home and said I would be a while yet... walk over to the coop gas station, and they don't lend out jerry can's anymore! Who would have known.... the only jerry can they had was 20 gallons - and it was almost $20... what the heck do I need a jerry can that big for??? I told the guy forget it, i have a small one at home. So I wander over to the bus stop. Bus comes very quickly - ya me!! and I get on, begging with the driver to let me ride for free cuz I have no money! He very graciously said yes. I am forever indebted! Thank you Transit driver! CT isn't soooo bad!! While on the bus my very nice boyfriend calls me and asks me how could I forget that the gas tank was empty...??? weren't you with me last night when we tried to get gas before the party??? I chuckle a little bit because - well, it is sort of humourous. I don't mind... make fun of the old lady... it's all good. I get home and the dogs had chewed up the garbage because no one knows how to take the full bag outside, they just know how to keep filling it to the point where Kira can stick her big nose in, tip it over and have ... eww... nummy leftovers... so Abdi is mumbling under his breath about the "good" dogs I have and then again insists on bringing up the fact that I ran out of gas AGAIN... like I didn't hear it the first time... now i'm getting choked... Not a happy girl... the talking down has to stop!! I grab the jerry can and head out. Well, because of the heated argument the dogs don't want to stay in either! nugget runs out, and kira is hot on her tail. I can't hold her back... so i decide we will all take a walk - it's a beautiful day. I have Kira and Nugget on leashes, my gloves on, a toque, and the jerry can. We didn't get very far when Abdi came along and said he would do it. After a few minutes of arguing I give in. He's mad at me still, walks off and loses the ONLY key we have. Can this day get any better???
Well, I called my friend for a favor and he sweetingly enough said he would help me. He picked me up - remember Kim still needs to get home. Her car is still at Santana's aunts house... I started walking towards southland drive and he apparently drove right passed me! hahah When we finally coordinated where I was, he drove me over there, we picked up the car, drove it to the gas station, wow, it was on e tooo. Then I didn't want to go home right away so we went and had something to eat together and then it was time to pick Kim up from work.
Then my beautiful daughter knowing what a crappy day I have had, treats me to a movie. We watched New Year's Eve. I didn't mind it at all.
Love you my daughter! Thanks for rescuing a bad bad day!
Hopefully this day hasn`t written what the rest of the year will be like. !! Fingers crossed!
